I strongly believe in the commitment to several basic 'ideals'. First, that great design has a seamless flow, not convoluted or crowded in concept, design, or space. Secondly, a great designer must have an understanding of the following: Color (theory), spatial standards, plantings with regard to leaf structure and color, lighting and its importance, the history of Art and Architecture and how they work together to make us what we are today. A good understanding of the building construction of a vessel and surrounding areas, including patios, walls, conditioned structures (pool house, apartments) that you are designing.

One of the most basic flaws in the pool industry is that the designer does not know how to build what they are drawing. Unfortunately this is the rule, not the exception and this is how most construction disasters occur. Lastly, I believe that a great design starts with a great designer challenging a client. One can only do this by challenging oneself. This is why I believe and participate in Genesis 3
